Voting begins tomorrow for 2018 General Election!
Dear friend: Early voting begins tomorrow. Voting is the foundation of our democracy. During the past year, across the country, we’ve seen more and more people engaging in our government by casting their vote. Let’s build on this momentum. We not only have critical state and federal offices at stake, but a number of City Council races being voted upon for the first time in November. On Monday, join El Paso leaders for a Rally to the Polls! Hosts include the El Paso County Democratic Party, Veronica Escobar, State Reps Joe Moody and Lina Ortega, El Paso County Judge Ruben Vogt and Commissioner David Stout, and City Reps Alexsandra Annello and Cassandra Hernandez. We are calling on all of our supporters, friends, colleagues and family members to gather and ensure we make a statement on Oct. 22 - the border WILL show up this midterm election! The event is at noon at Bassett Place, 6101 Gateway Blvd W. On Tuesday, join Democratic Nominee for Governor, Lupe Valdez, and guests on the #FairShotTour to talk about the issues that matter to Texan families - healthcare for all, strong neighborhood schools, an economy that works for everyone, fair immigration and criminal justice systems, common sense gun reform, and the dignity, respect, and opportunity that every Texan deserves. The event, part of a whirlwind 10-day tour covering 40 cities, 4,700 miles, and 47 get-out-the-vote events, is at 8:30 a.m. at Pavo Real Recreation Center, 9301 Alameda Ave. If you have questions about your registration status, you can check with the El Paso County Elections Department, which also has a list of great resources, such as sample ballots and voting locations. Polling hours vary, so you can find your early voting location and hours here. Time to vote! Sincerely, |
